With the PRESTAN Professional Jaw Thrust Head, instructors have the choice of teaching using the jaw thrust maneuver or the head-tilt/chin-lift technique, which allows students to hold the manikin's lower jaw and lift it with both hands, moving the jaw of the manikin forward and upward. The jaw thrust maneuver can be performed with minimizing neck movement, making it the safest method for opening the airway of a victim who may have suffered a head, neck, or spinal injury.

Jaw Thrust Heads may be purchased separately and easily fit onto the torso of the original PRESTAN Professional Adult Manikin.
